Feds Target Patti

Wife of former governor complies with subpoena

It looks like the feds will be perusing through all of Patti Blagojevich's documents, and all the four-letter words they may contain.

Patti, wife of former governor Rod Blagojevich, has been served with a federal subpoena asking for any documents, notes or e-mails related to more than 40 people, from Tony Rezko to her real estate dealings.

Patti has reportedly been cooperative, but her lawyer, Raymond Pijon, doesn't want people to think she is in any way crossing her husband.

"I think they're close as a couple and obviously have a lot of things in common," Pijon told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Patti was overheard on FBI wiretaps allegedly suggesting to her husband that the state should only help finance a Wrigley Field deal if an editorial writer at the Chicago Tribune was fired.

"Hold up that (expletive) Cubs (expletive)," she says, according to the recorded phone conversation. "(Expletive) them."

The subpoena raises new questions over whether she will become part of a grand jury indictment.

Matt Bartosik, former blogger of The Chicago Traveler and editor of Off the Rocks' next issue, never uses that kind of (expletive) language.
