A 24-year-old man was killed early Wednesday morning when his car crashed into a light pole in the 2900 block of North Western Avenue.

The victim’s car slammed into the light pole around 12:50 a.m. in Avondale, according to the Chicago Tribune.

The victim was identified as Javier Pacheco-Roman, from the 2700 block of North Kendale Avenue, and was pronounced dead at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, the Tribune reports.

Police said it was unclear what caused the crash, and no other vehicles were involved.
