Family Says Car Was Unfairly Towed From Irving Park Home

A Chicago family says their car was unfairly towed away from behind their Irving Park home.

Renielle Talmeier said her father’s Red Toyota had been parked there since Sept. since he left for the Philippines. When they noticed it was gone Thursday, they thought it was stolen but they discovered it had been towed by Lincoln Towing.

The vehicle had been taken by the company that has a sign on a building two doors down.

“My parents haven't moved car for 4 months,” Renielle Thalheimer said. “My mom doesn't have driver license. I don't have driver licenses. The person that drivers that car is back in the Philippines.”

The women argue that the car had valid stickers, including one from the building owner.

“What he did is wrong,” Aileen Maripol said.

When NBC Chicago arrived at the Andersonville yard Monday night, representatives for the company said to write to the manager, who was not available until Tuesday. Emails to the company for comment were not answered.
