A Chicago family considers themselves lucky nobody was seriously injured after a slate of ice fell through a window onto a bed where a woman was nursing her 5-month-old baby.
Semyon Shtulberg says his wife was feeding their 5-week-old daughter when the ice, which was wrapped around the downspout of an adjacent building, broke off and crashed through the ground-level window.
The mother suffered cuts on her back from the shattered glass, and the baby was cut between her eye and nose.
Shtulberg says his wife guarded the baby the best she could.
"She was pretty freaked out, so she started screaming and the neighbors came running over and called 911," Shtulberg said.
Both were released from a local hospital after a few hours.
