A 74-year-old Elgin man was charged after being caught allegedly trying to drug a caregiver who was really an undercover cop.

The officer caught Raymond Kvacik putting a sleeping pill in his drink, the Daily Herald reports.

The Elgin Police Department launched its undercover investigation at Kvacik's home after receiving two similar reports of Kvacik trying to slip the substance into his care workers' cups.

He faces three counts of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse for allegedly inappropriately touching one of the workers. Kvacik resides on the 100 block of South State Street.

His bail was set Wednesday at $150,000. He will appear in court again March 1.
