All southbound lanes on the Edens Expressway were shut down Friday after a fatal crash, state police said.
A car traveling on the I-94 southbound fatally struck the passenger of a semitrailer which had pulled over on the shoulder near Dempster Street just after 3 p.m., Illinois State Police said. Skokie police also arrived on scene to assist state police.
The investigation was ongoing and there was no further information immediately available.
