East Coast Storm Hampers Chicago Travelers

Travelers trying to get to East Coast face challenges

The winter storm that's pummeling the East Coast has forced airlines to cancel about 150 flights in Chicago.

"I woke up early at 4 a.m. and rushed to the airport just to see that my flight to New York has been canceled," one traveler said.

Another said she'd wished the airlines would provide her with accommodation.

"I've been fending for myself," the traveler said on camera.

A spokeswoman for the Chicago Department of Aviation reports that the severe weather in the east has resulted in 130 flight cancellations at O'Hare International Airport and 20 cancellations at Midway International Airport.

The Aviation Department is advising travelers worried about their flights to arrive at the airports at least two hours early.
