Don't put the umbrella away. Our morning storms are moving out of the area but there's the potential for another round ahead. The weekend looks better, though.

It's April, and there are showers.

Thursday morning’s moderate to heavy rain showers are expected to taper heading into the afternoon hours. Things should stay cloudy, windy and chilly for the rest of the day, with more rain possible heading into the evening.

The wet weather is expected to continue through Friday, with morning and evening showers possible.

Temperatures could reach into the low 50s Friday morning for some areas, but will fall quickly during the afternoon for the Cubs home opener.

Cubs fans can expect a potentially wet and windy start to the season, with wind gusts of up to 45 mph possible.

Conditions are forecast to improve heading into the weekend as things look to dry up Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday will stay chilly as temps hover in the mid-40s, but Sunday’s high will rebound back into the 50s with partly sunny skies.
