Drunken Brawl on Golf Course

Two arrested on battery charges

The weekend's here! Let's enjoy it with a round of golf. But don't play with these guys...

Two men were arrested after getting in a physical, drunken confrontation on an Aurora golf course on Tuesday, reports the Chicago Tribune.

A group of golfers at the Orchard Valley Golf Course accused the group ahead of them of playing too slowly, said police.

The two groups exchanged words, and it wasn't long before punches and golf clubs were swinging.

Clearly, they had a score to settle.

Police arrived and broke up the fight, arresting Robert J. Adamson, 57, and Thomas A. Newman, 47. Adamson—who had swung at Newman with a golf club—was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Newman was not seriously injured, and he was arrested for aggravated battery in a public place.

The 51-year-old man Newman had punched in the nose required emergency treatment, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Police said all the men appeared intoxicated.

What a bunch of holes.
