Drivers Injured After School Bus, Car Collide

The driver of a car and the driver of an occupied school bus were injured when the two collided near Big Rock Tuesday morning.

The accident took place around 8:10 a.m. when an occupied school bus collided with a car on Route 30 west of Davis Road, according to the Kane County Sheriff's Office.

Nine children were on the bus at the time of the crash and all were released at the scene, Lt. Pat Gengler said.

The driver of the bus and the driver of the car were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, according to Gengler.

The children were transported by a different bus to Big Rock Elementary School and their parents were notified by school officials.

Details surrounding the crash were not immediately available.
