Police believe a driver was intoxicated when he crashed his minivan into a Southwest Side dental office Monday night.

The unidentified 32-year-old man was driving north on South Komensky Avenue shortly before midnight when police say he ran a stop sign and drove directly into the Silver Lake Dental Office at 4020 W. 59th St.

The man is accused of fleeing the scene following the crash.

He was arrested soon afterward on a nearby street and charged with DUI and possession of cannabis after officers recovered a bag of marijuana from the van, according to police. He was also cited for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident, failing to stop at a stop sign and crashing into the property.

No injuries were reported in the crash.
