Two is better than one—at least that's what one Waukegan lottery winner thinks.
Hilda Lopez won $200,000 on a Disco Bingo instant ticket and she’s crediting her winning strategy.
“When I decide to play, I always buy two tickets of the same game,” she told Illinois Lottery officials. “My belief is if one ticket is not a winner, the other one will be. I’m so happy my strategy paid off.”
Lopez bought two tickets at Murphy USA, located at 3850 Fountain Square Pl. in Waukegan and said she didn’t win a prize on the first one she scratched.
“When I scratched the second ticket and saw that I won $200,000, I screamed so loud my husband almost lost his grip on the steering wheel,” she said.
Lopez plans to pay off her mortgage and take her family on a vacation with her winnings.
