Young Chicago Bears Fan Names Brain Tumor ‘Aaron Rodgers'

A young Chicago Bears fan battling cancer is using his love of the team to fight the disease.

Miguel Reyes, of Elkhart, Indiana, has a brain tumor that causes him to have seizures, according to The Elkhart Truth. The 14-year-old receives support from his former teacher Peg Kelly, who is a Green Bay Packers fan.

"I said, ‘You need to name that tumor so we can kill it,'” Kelly told the publication. “You know what he named it? Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers. What a stinker!"

Despite the name choice, Kelly is very supportive as Reyes endures weight loss and nausea from his chemotherapy. She even bought Reyes a German shepherd that she hopes can be trained to detect when Reyes will have a seizure.

The Reyes family started a GoFundMe page to pay to train the dog. The boy loves the pup, but "she is just too strong for him to control right now and really needs to be trained so that she can be with Miguel all the time," the family said on the page.
