‘Divergent' Trailer Puts Spotlight on Chicago

People from across the country diverged from their daily routines Wednesday to watch the premiere of the first full-length trailer for the upcoming film "Divergent."

The movie adaption of the Chicago-based novel, which began filming in the city in April, released the trailer in a livestreamed event on YouTube at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The movie, directed by Neil Burger, stars Shailene Woodley ("The Descendants," The Amazing Spider-Man 2"), Kate Winslet, Theo James and Miles Teller. It marks Conespace Chicago Film Studios' first major Hollywood film.

"Divergent" is penned by local author Veronica Roth about a future world of residents divided into factions by their personalities.

The Chicago skyline made several appearances in the two minute, thirty second clip.
