Cell phone user sues movie theatre for negligence

    People hoping to get a role as an extra in "Prisoners" will have to wait a little longer.

    This movie was a real head trip.

    A woman from Summit, Illinois has filed a lawsuit in Cook County Circuit Court claiming negligence against the Kerasotes Niles Showplace 12 movie theatre after an arm rest clobbered her in the head, according to the Sun-Times. .

    In her lawsuit Taj Showers, 36, says that while watching a movie with her 10-year-old son, she hunched over to answer her vibrating cell phone. As she tilted her head, the armrest of her seat, which had been flipped in the upright position suddenly came down striking her on the head, according to the Sun-Times.

    Showers claims the incident left her with a concussion, blurry vision and even caused her to lose consciousness.

    She claims the theater was negligent for failing to repair damaged seats and armrests making it unsafe for patrons.

    Showers is seeking an unspecified amount.
