The United States eight-man crew team was one of the team's that qualified for the 2012 Olympic games in London.

Two DeKalb natives will represent the United States at the 2012 London Olympics as members of U.S. Rowing.

Grant and Ross James, twin brothers from DeKalb and former University of Wisconsin rowers, received their ticket to London Tuesday after a win at the men’s eight race at the 2012 Final Olympic Qualification Regatta in Lucerne, Switzerland.

Their qualification marks the 12th consecutive Summer Games to feature Wisconsin rowers. The team beat out France and New Zealand, ensuring their spot in the Olympic lineup this summer.

The twin brothers are the only members of the current team who rowed in the men’s eight at the 2011 World Championship, which did not qualify for the 2011 Olympics.

The loss, which marked the first time the U.S. had not secured its place at the World Championship, forced the team to qualify through the Final Olympic Qualification Regatta.

The James twins are to appear at the rowing event of the 2012 London Olympics held from July 28 to Aug. 4.
