Daytime Queen Honors Music King

Oprah dedicates episode to Michael Jackson

As if you haven't had your fill of Michael Jackson stories, the queen of daytime TV plans on devoting a whole episode King of Pop later this month.

Harpo Studios has confirmed that Oprah Winfrey will air "Oprah Remembers Michael Jackson," Wednesday, September 16. The episode will feature Winfrey's 1993 interview with Jackson as well as memories of MJ set to music.

The interview was an incredible moment for The Oprah Winfrey Show. With approximately 90 million U.S. viewers, it was the series' most-watched single episode ever.

During the interview, Jackson publicly announced for the first time that he suffered from a chronic skin disorder known as vitiligo and addressed its effect on his skin color. His appearance on the show brought a new awareness to the condition, which was relatively unknown before then.

Jackson also discussed the abuse he experienced as a child due to his father, Joe Jackson.

According to the Harpo release, the episode will also feature "never-before-revealed personal details" from the interview.

Matt Bartosik, a "between blogs" blogger, wonders if Winfrey will also shut down Jackson Boulevard.
