David Ross Set to Skydive at Chicago Air and Water Show

Ross will tandem jump with the U.S Army Parachute Team Golden Knights

Former world champion Chicago Cubs catcher David Ross is set to skydive in this weekend's Chicago Air and Water Show as the opening act.

Ross will tandem jump Saturday morning with the U.S Army Parachute Team Golden Knights and land in front of the Boat House at North Avenue Beach just after the start of the show at 10 a.m.

It's a change in activity from his recent position as a finalist on "Dancing with the Stars."

Ross, a two-time World Series champion affectionately known to many as "Grandpa Rossy," has kept his resume up to date since his retirement from baseball. Ross joined ESPN as a baseball analyst and took a job as a special assistant in the Cubs’ Baseball Operations department.

The Chicago Air and Water Show begins at 10 a.m. Aug. 19 along the lakefront at North Avenue Beach.

The show will also feature the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights and the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs.
