A man accused of killing three members of a Darien family accepted a plea deal Tuesday in court, pleading guilty and mentally ill to one murder.
Jacob Nodarse, 25, was charged with killing Jeffrey and Lori Kramer and their son Mike during a break-in at their home in March 2010.
As part of the deal, Nodarse pleaded guilty to the death of Jeffrey Kramer. The other two murders were dropped. He faces between 45 years and life in prison.
Prosecutors accused Nodarse of killing the family for his friend, Johny Borizov, who was going through a child custody battle with the Kramers' daughter.
Nodarse originally entered a not-guilty plea to 23 counts of first-degree murder, conspiracy, home invasion and obstruction of justice.
Borizov was also charged with murder and is being held at the DuPage County Jail awaiting trial.
Nodarse agreed to testify against Borizov as part of the deal.
