DNA Determines Body is Missing Lake Villa Man

Nick Steward went missing Sept. 20, believed to have committed suicide

DNA tests have confirmed that the body of a man found in a Vernon Hills cornfield last week is that of a missing Lake Villa man that went missing a couple of weeks ago, the Pioneer Press is reporting.

Nick Steward, 33, went missing on Sept. 20. His car was found Thursday night in a parking lot adjacent to the cornfield, and his body was found a few hours later.

The wounds on his body suggest he slit his own wrists, according to the coroner.

Seward's body was badly decomposed, making the DNA tests necessary to confirm his identity.
