Cubs' Team Plane Diverted During Flight to Los Angeles, Spokesman Says

The Chicago Cubs were slated to arrive in Los Angeles Friday morning, but it appears they didn't make it all the way there as their plane was diverted to New Mexico -- and they're still there.

According to a team spokesman, the plane was diverted to Albuquerque due to an ill family member on the flight.

After the diversion, the plane's pilot was out of allotted hours to fly and the team was left waiting for a new pilot, the spokesman said.

They are expected to depart once again for LAX soon after 11:30 a.m. CT.

The Cubs are set to take on the Dodgers at Dodger Stadium for Game 1 of the NLCS Saturday night.
