The Chicago Cubs placed right-handed pitcher Kyuji Fujikawa on the 15-day disabled list with a muscle strain to his right forearm, the team announced Monday.

Right-handed pitcher Alex Burnett, who was claimed off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles earlier Monday, was added to the roster and will be available for when the Cubs face off against the White Sox later in the day.

Burnett has made nine minor league relief appearances and two for Baltimore this month. He made a career-high 67 relief appearance for the Minnesota Twins in 2012.

Fujikawa, 32, made 12 relief appearances for Chicago. He has held opponents scoreless in nine of 12 outings, walking two and striking out 14.
