Cubs Set World Series Pitching Rotation

The Chicago Cubs will begin the World Series on Tuesday night against the Cleveland Indians, and Jon Lester will be on the hill as the team looks to win its first championship in over 100 years.

Lester, who started Game 1 in both the NLDS and NLCS, has been the Cubs' best starter in the postseason, giving up just two earned runs and striking out 14 batters as he's won all three games that he's started.

Lester will be going up against Corey Kluber when the Cubs and Indians kick off the series on Tuesday night. Kluber has a 2-1 record in three postseason starts, sporting a 0.98 ERA as he helped the Indians to series wins over the Boston Red Sox and Toronto Blue Jays.

The Cubs also revealed the rest of their starting rotation for the series, with Jake Arrieta taking the hill in Game 2. Arrieta had a strong debut outing against the Giants in the first round of the playoffs, but he struggled against the Dodgers in the Championship Series, raising his ERA to 4.91 and leaving him with an 0-1 record so far in the postseason.

When the series shifts back to Wrigley Field for Game 3, Kyle Hendricks will get the ball for the Cubs. The hurler had a stellar season at the Friendly Confines, and that has continued in the postseason as he's sported a 1.65 ERA in three starts at Wrigley, including seven innings of shutout ball as the Cubs eliminated the Dodgers on Saturday.

John Lackey will get the Game 4 start for the Cubs, as he had a great outing for the team in a Game 4 victory at Dodger Stadium in the NLCS. The hurler will pitch in his third World Series, as he has a 2-1 record with a 3.42 ERA in four career starts.
