Couple Pleads For Return of Missing Dogs

“We’re devastated, these are our kids,” said Wilk. “It’s too much to handle. I feel like we’ve lost our children right now.”

An Avondale couple is pleading for help in finding their two French bulldogs after their home was burglarized Tuesday morning.

David Wilk and his husband Charlie Gurion left their home, nestled near Belmont and Sacramento, to get coffee around 9 a.m. Tuesday. When they returned two hours later, they noticed their front door was broken into and their two Yorkshire Terriers were running around.

“They took our security system, laptops and iPads,” said Wilk. “Little stuff.”

But most importantly, the couple noticed that two of their pups, a 9-month-old French bulldog named Pierre and a 2-year-old French bulldog Rue, who is deaf, were missing.

“We’re devastated, these are our kids,” said Wilk. “It’s too much to handle. I feel like we’ve lost our children right now.”

Pierre is gray and is about 20 pounds, and Rue is white with tan spots and is about 18 pounds, the couple said.

The newlyweds aren’t sure if the dogs were taken in the robbery or if they simply went missing, but they’re pleading for anyone with information to help find their dogs.

“This has never happened before,” Wilk said. “They’ve never been out before.”

Wilk is asking anyone with information contact him at (815) 603-8177 or david@sharethis.com.
