Cops Search For Man Who Broke Into Brighton Park Home, Sexually Assaulted Woman

Authorities in the Chicago area are searching for a suspect who allegedly broke into a woman’s home and sexually assaulted her on the city’s Southwest Side on Sunday morning.

According to police, the suspect entered the victim’s residence in the 4300 block of South Richmond Street between 8:15 a.m. and 8:45 a.m., struck the victim, and choked her until she was unconscious. Police say the man then sexually assaulted the woman before fleeing the scene.

Alderman Ray Lopez represents the Ward where the crime took place and he says that after the assault, the victim ran to a local fire station for help.

“It’s absolutely disgusting and abhorrent that this would happen in our communities,” expressed  Lopez. “No one should ever have to go through this alone and we want her to know that her community is with her."

The man is described as a Hispanic male between the ages of 25 to 30, standing between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-9 and weighing between 200 and 250 pounds. The man had a full mustache and beard, was wearing a black t-shirt with the word “Security” on it, black pants, and a black bandana.

Anyone with information on the suspect or the incident is asked to call Chicago police at 312-747-8380, or to dial 911.
