Cops Hunt For Gunmen in Deadly I-57 Shooting

Police are still looking for the gunmen who killed two people on I-57 Monday night.

It’s the third expressway shooting on the city's South Side just this month. Neighbors are upset about another expressway shooting on Chicago’s South Side.

The latest on I-57 near 123rd Street around 8 p.m. Monday. Three people were injured two of them died. The two victims were identified as a pair of 25-year-old men: Parrish Myles Junior and Gerald Glover.

Late Friday night - just a few blocks south — there was another shooting on I-57 near 127th Street.

A driver called police saying another car fired at him as he merged from the on-ramp. No one was hit by gunfire.

Just a week and a half ago -- a third shooting happened on I-57 between 147th and 159th streets.

Police say three people were injured after another car pulled up alongside and fired.

Voters on the South Side say the shootings are impacting their decision at the polls.

Several residents who spoke with NBC 5 said they were planning to vote with the issue of gun control on their minds.

According to Illinois State Police, 37 reported shootings on Chicago expressways so far this year compared to 51 last year and 54 the year before.
