Christopher Skedd has a lot of legal trouble for a 20-year-old man. He's been accused of arson, drug dealing, theft and most recently, carrying a hand gun in public.
In fact, Thursday's incident on Naperville's far southeast side marked his second arrest in 11 days.
Skedd was picked up by police in the Heritage Knolls neighborhood, records show. He's set for trial on misdemeanor charges of attempted unlawful use of a weapon, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and improper display of his vehicle's license plates, according to DuPage County Court records.
Skedd was also arrested June 28 at his home at 1620 Redpoll Court in the city's Maplebrook South area. He was charged that day with attempted theft of stolen goods, after police found him in possession of a desktop computer valued at $1,000 that had been reported taken from another man's home.
Will County Court records show Skedd faces trial there on felony charges of arson, manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance and indirect criminal contempt in connection with two cases from 2007 and 2008. The arson charge stemmed from an incident in 2007, in which Skedd and at least one other man allegedly used a Molotov cocktail to set fire to the surface of a car in the Old Farm neighborhood.
Skedd awaits in Will County for his alleged possession of between 30 and 500 grams of marijuana on June 25, 2008. In DuPage County, he's awaiting trial on charges of manufacturing or delivering less than 10 grams of marijuana last summer in Naperville.
Skedd remains free on bail.
