Construction Prank

Gotcha, commuters.

Fooled you.

The Illinois Department of Transportation had everyone in Chicagoland ready for a catastrophic commute to work this morning, but when it came time to cruise in, the roads were just fine.

"It took about 35 minutes to get from Naperville to downtown on the Ike! A new world record," commuter Rich Reuter said.

Contractors that were supposed to move from Highway 355 to the I-290 weren’t finished with their work just yet, so they stalled.

Now officials are saying that construction won’t begin until tomorrow.
