Christmas Tree Arrives at Daley Plaza Friday

The Sprangler family's tree was cut down Thursday and began the trip to Chicago.

Chicago's official Christmas tree will be arriving to its new home Friday night at Daley Plaza.

The Sprangler family said goodbye to their 55-foot-tall Colorado Spruce as it was removed from their yard the day before.

The tree will be installed sometime after 7 p.m. Friday, according to the City of Chicago website, and a decorating crew will begin stringing lights on Monday.

The Sprangler family will flip the switch at the Tree Lighting Ceremony Nov. 23 at Daley Plaza.

The Sprangler tree was chosen among three finalists to be "Chicago's Official Christmas Tree" out of 38 submissions.
