Get ready to reach a little deeper into your wallets, Chicago. You're now paying the highest average gas prices in the country.

That's according to the semimonthly Lundberg survey, which found the average price of gas in the U.S. rose 12 cents over the past two weeks.

The U.S. average for a gallon of regular now stands at $3.88, but in Chicago, it'll cost you an average of $4.27.

Tucson, Ariz., has the country's lowest gas prices, at an average of $3.54.

The Associated Press reports the national average for mid-grade gas is $4.02, and for premium, it's $4.13. For diesel, Lundberg says the average is now $4.19.
