To get ready for orange leaves and brisk temperatures, the Chicago Reader will host a fall-themed cocktail tasting on Oct 4.
During "Fall Cocktail Challenge: An autumnal mixologist mash up," bartenders from across the city will make autumn-themed beverages for attendees to sample. A variety of Chicago bars will be represented, including Three Dots and a Dash, Barrelhouse Flat and Old Town Pour House. The event is inspired by the Reader's cocktail challenge series, where bartenders face off by making a drink with a specific ingredient.
Guests can vote for their favorite cocktail through Instagram. All they have to do is upload a picture of the drink using the hashtag #cocktailchallenge and tagging @chicago_reader.
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at fallcocktailchallenge.com. That price includes the cocktail tasting, as well as food and other drinks.
The 6 p.m. event will take place at State and Lake Chicago Tavern.
