As President Obama recently said, studying is good. Chicago Public School students seem to have picked up the message.

CPS registered an all-time high in first day of school presences this year, with 94.1 percent of students showing up.

“We partnered with community groups, parents, teachers, principals, faith leaders and corporate leaders to underscore the important message of going to school on the first day,” said Schools CEO Ron Huberman, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.

Last year had already marked a record result, with 93.7 percent of students attending their first day of school, and results have been increasing since 2004, when less than 92 percent of students would show up.
