A Chicago police captain filed a lawsuit against another officer, claiming he posted malicious comments about the captain and his family on Facebook.

Captain Juan Morado, 53, filed the lawsuit in Circuit Court of Cook County against Officer Lance Handzel, reports the Chicago Tribune.

In postings on Facebook, according to the lawsuit, Handzel, 41, accuses Morado's family of being gang members who sell drugs.

Morado denies the allegations and is seeking more than $50,000 in damages.
