The victim is younger than 13, police said.

A Chicago man is being held on $1 million bond in Farmington, Conn., on charges of first-degree sexual assault.

David Waite, 54, of 3951 North Hermitage, Apt. A, was arrested on Friday at the Cook County Correctional Facility in Illinois.

Farmington police obtained an arrest warrant for Waite on Oct. 3 and he was held by Chicago police until Farmington detectives arrived to extradite him back to Connecticut on Friday.

The case involves a child under the age of 13, police said. The victim told police the alleged abuse happened over several years and the case is also being investigated in Illinois and New Jersey, according to authorities. Investigators said the warrant is sealed and would not release any other details about the case.

Waite also faces a charge of risk of injury to a minor. He is scheduled to be in court on Tuesday.
