A Chicago magician fed up with the Starbucks’ red cup controversy decided to make the issue ‘disappear.’
Tim Hannig posted a video on YouTube that shows him performing a disappearing trick with a cup of coffee inside a Starbucks.
In the video, Hannig flips a full cup of coffee upside down on his hand. The coffee has seemingly disappeared, and Hannig ends the trick by crumpling the now empty red cup.
"My job is to remind people of the wonder of everyday life, and that's easy to miss if you're complaining on social media," Hannig said in a statement.
“I think everyone knows how to make a cup of coffee disappear,” said Hannig. “It's just that I'm able to do it in a way you've never seen."
Last week, customers began criticizing Starbucks' decision to use plain red cups during the holiday season instead of cups printed with holiday themed designs.
A self-described Christian activist posted a video online condemning the company for its new holiday cup design. The hashtag #MerryChristmasStarbucks went viral on social media after the video was posted.

"Each year during the holidays we aim to bring our customers an experience that inspires the spirit of the season and we will continue to embrace and welcome customers from all backgrounds and religions in our stores around the world."
Massachusetts-based Dunkin' Donuts has since released its own holiday cups featuring the word "Joy" and images of wreaths and holly.
