The best swanky hotel in the country, according to travelers themselves, is right here in Chicago.
TripAdvisor revealed the winners of the annual “Traveler’s Choice Awards: Best Hotels 2016” Wednesday, and The Langham Chicago on the city’s North Side was voted the no. 1 luxurious place to stay in the U.S.
The ranking was compiled from millions of reviews submitted to the travel website through the course of the year.
“This hotel has everything going for it: an unbeatable location, wonderful staff, and a lot of character, in one word: amazing,” one traveler wrote.
Two other Chicago spots also garnered enough stellar reviews to make the list of Top 25 luxurious stays: The Waldorf Astoria Chicago came in at no. 7 followed by Four Seasons Hotel Chicago in the 15th spot.
For those not looking to shell out a ton on a hotel room, the Talbott Hotel in the city’s Gold Coast was voted no. 8 in the country on the overall ‘Best Hotel’ ranking. The Langham Chicago also made its way to the overall list, coming in at no. 25 – proving it must really have a lot of bang for its buck.
