Chicago Fights Bitter Cold with 24-Hour Warming Center

The City of Chicago operates one 24-hour warming center at 10 S. Kedzie Ave., and advises anyone struggling in the dangerous temperatures to call 3-1-1

With dangerous wind chills hitting the Chicago area this weekend, even just a few minutes outside can be painful. 

Luckily the city has several designated warming centers to help keep residents warm. While most are open during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., there is one center open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

The 24-hour facility is in the Garfield Center, located at 10 S. Kedzie Ave. The rest of the warming centers are:
