Chicago Cubs Announce 2016 Spring Training Schedule

The Cubs will play 31 spring training games, including 14 at Sloan Park in Mesa

With over three months to go until pitchers and catchers report to camp, the Chicago Cubs gave their fans a glimpse at sunshine on the horizon as they unveiled their 2016 spring training schedule on Friday afternoon.

The slate includes a total of 31 games, including 14 that will be played at the Cubs' home stadium at Sloan Park in Mesa. The Cubs will also wrap up the spring slate with a pair of games against the New York Mets in Las Vegas, and will play their final tune-up game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on April 3 ahead of the teams beginning the regular season against one another the following Tuesday.

The Cubs will play two games against the Chicago White Sox this coming spring, with a date March 12 at Sloan Park and a road contest at Camelback Ranch on March 18. The Cubs will also travel to their former spring home on March 13 when they take on the Oakland A’s at HoHoKam Stadium.

For those planning a trip to Arizona this spring to see the Cubs, the final week of camp may be your best chance to go to games, as the Cubs will play five of their final six Cactus League games at home.
