Chicago Company Recalls 561,000 Pounds of Chicken Due to Salmonella Risk

Brands that fall under the recall include Antioch Farms, Kirkwood, Market Day, Roundy's, Safeway Kitchens, Schwan's and Sysco

A Chicago-based company expanded its recall of chicken products on Friday to include an additional 561,000 pounds of frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken products.

Aspen Foods recalled the products due to possible salmonella contamination, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The frozen, raw, stuffed and breaded chicken items appear to be "ready-to-eat," but that may not be the case, according to the federal agency.

The products that fall under the recall were produced between Aug. 25, 2015, and Sept. 17, 2015. The "best if used by" dates on these products range from Aug. 23, 2016, to Dec. 15, 2016.

Brands that fall under the recall include Antioch Farms, Kirkwood, Market Day, Roundy's, Safeway Kitchens, Schwan's and Sysco. See a complete list here.

Aspen Foods recalled nearly 2 million pounds of raw frozen chicken products in July when the U.S. Department of Agriculture determined there was a link between the products and three people in Minnesota getting infected with salmonella.
