Chicago-Bound Amtrak Train Collides With Vehicle in West Virginia

A Chicago-bound Amtrak train and a vehicle collided Monday in Ranson, West Virginia, the rail agency said.

The incident, involving Amtrak Capitol Limited train 29, occurred about 5:35 p.m. after it departed from Washington, D.C. There no injuries to the more than 100 passengers and crew on board the train, Amtrak said. The train has been delayed for about an hour and 10 minutes. Amtrak police were cooperating with local law enforcement during an investigation, the rail agency said.

It was unclear if anyone was in the vehicle involved in the accident or what their conditions might be.
