Chicago Area Hosts Runs to Support Boston

Local runners host events in wake of Boston bombings

The Chicago area laced up Monday to show love and support for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

These are just few locations that hosted "Runners for Boston" events:

CHICAGO

Solidarity Run
What: A 3-mile run sponsored by Running Away Multisport and RAM Racing
Where/When:
6:30 p.m. at 2219 N. Clybourn Ave. in Chicago
Need to know: Runners will wear special T-shirts for $20 and proceeds will go to Boston Athletic Association (BAA)

Runners For Boston Fun Run
What: A 3-6 mile fun run in two Chicago neighborhoods
Where/When:
6:30 p.m. at Fleet Feet locations in Lincoln Square, 4762 N. Lincoln Ave., and Old Town, 1620 N. Wells St.
Need to know:
Earnings from $20 T-shirt sales go to One Fund Boston. Event organizers say 250 people already have signed up to run. Participants are encouraged to wear past or present Boston Marathon gear or the marathon's iconic blue and yellow.

DEERFIELD
What: A 3-mile run sponsored by Running Away Multisport and RAM racing
Where/When: 6:30 p.m. at 800 Waukegan Road in Deerfield
Need to know: Runners will wear special T-shirts for $20 and proceeds with go to the Boston Athletic Association (BAA)

NAPERVILLE

What: A 5K run to show support for the runners in the Boston Marathon
Where/When: 6:30 p.m. at Naperville Running Co, 34 W. Jefferson Ave.
Need to know: Naperville Running Co. will sell $20 T-shirts to raise money for the One Fund Boston organization. Participants are asked to wear race shirts or Boston Marathon gear.
