Charles Barkley Weighs In on Thibodeau's Contract Situation

The NBA legend and TV analyst called it a "disgrace" that the Bulls haven't extended Thibs

NBA legend and current TV analyst thinks it's turrible the Chicago Bulls haven't given Tom Thibodeau a contract extension yet.

OK, Sir Chares didn’t exactly use that iconic phrase, but he did call it a “disgrace” that Thibs hasn’t been locked up into a long-term deal to man the sidelines in Chicago.

To add even more fuel to the fire, Barkley echoed the popular sentiment that Chicago sports teams – not just the Bulls – are cheap.

"I think it's a disgrace that they haven't taken care of Tom Thibodeau," said Barkley on Thursday while appearing on ESPN radio’s The Waddle & Silvy Show.

"This guy is unbelievable. ... But apparently (the Chicago Bears) screwed Matt Forte for the last year and a half," he said. "Something 'bout you guys in Chicago, you're all cheap, you don't want to pay people."

All summer many Bulls fans, writers and bloggers have expressed some form of outrage over the way the team totally dismantled and rebuilt the roster heading into the 2012-2013 campaign. Players come and go, but good coaches are hard to come by.

The real anger should be in the way the team hasn’t taken care of the best coach they’ve had since the departure of Phil Jackson.
