Cardinal Francis George will make his first public appearance on Friday since he was diagnosed with cancer last week.
George will make his scheduled appearance at the Hispanic Ministry Awards Banquet “Noche de Gala" in Oakbrook Terrace.
Doctors found cancerous cells in George's liver and kidney following tests last week.
The event celebrate George's 50th anniversary as Archbishop of Chicago.
