Cardinal George Traveled To Michigan After Release From Hospital

George was the main celebrant at his brother-in-law's funeral Mass

When Cardinal Francis George was released from Loyola University Medical Center on Friday, he traveled to Grand Rapids, Mich., NBC5 has learned.

The 77-year-old George was the main celebrant Saturday for the funeral Mass for his brother-in-law, James Cain.

Cain, who was 86 years old, was married to George's sister Margaret. The Cains have lived in Grand Rapids for many years.

George is undergoing a new round of chemotherapy and spent last week in the hospital with an infection. He is still taking antibiotics, and doctors will decide when to resume the chemotherapy.

His spokesman said the Cardinal is doing well and is keeping a vigorous schedule this week.
