A driver faces charges of driving under the influence after his pickup truck plowed into a hot dog stand early Wednesday in the Back of the Yards neighborhood, police said.
The truck crashed into the restaurant at the corner of 44th and Wood, causing significant damage to the front of the structure. No one was injured.
However, the building was evacuated and five people were displaced, police said.
Structural engineers must examine the damage to assess the integrity of the building, police said.
