A car smashed into a fast food restaurant in Englewood early Thursday, taking out the storefront gates.

Police said the car flew into A-One Gyros just before 2 a.m. on the 300 block of West 75th Street. The impact sent debris scattered all over the street. Video of the aftermath shows the car went through the front of the restaurant and as deep as the counter.

Witnesses said three people were in the car, but they quickly ran off and haven't been located.

Police tried towing the vehicle away after the crash, but they heard gunshots about a block away and were forced to wait.
