Update: Yolk opened on time and the managers say the window will be fixed soon.
A car crashed into a Streeterville breakfast restaurant overnight, and police are trying to figure out if the vehicle had been involved in an earlier chase.
The car struck Yolk Restaurant at the corner of Grand & McClurg at about 12:35 Thursday morning, police said.
The restaurant was not open at the time, and no one else in the building was hurt. But at least one huge window pane at the restaurant was shattered, and shards of glass littered the area.
Police said the vehicle that crashed into the building was found abandoned a few blocks away. But as of Thursday morning there was no description of the car or information about who owns it.
Police were investigating whether the vehicle had been involved in some kind of chase.
