A car crashed into the basement of a Streamwood home Saturday afternoon, police said.
A painter and the homeowner were inside the home when the car smashed through the brick walls and into the home.

“Next thing you know the car’s in the basement,” said Scott Cecille, who was painting the house at the time. “It was like a bomb went off.”
The car was completely inside the basement upon fire officials’ arrival, according to the acting Battalion Chief McCoy.
The driver was transported to an area hospital with unspecified injuries. Police are still investigating how the driver lost control and whether the house is stable.
