Cable Repairman Convicted of Murdering Customer

Anthony Triplett was convicted Monday in the rape and murder of 23-year-old Chicago woman

A cable repairman has been found guilty of first-degree murder in the 2006 death of a Chicago woman who let him into her home to repair her Internet service.

Anthony Triplett was convicted Monday in the rape and murder of 23-year-old Urzula Sakowska.

During his trial, the 32-year-old Triplett was linked to the death of 39-year-old Janet Ordidge, who was found dead in the bathroom of her Hyde Park home. Prosecutors said DNA evidence linked Triplett to Ordidge. He has yet to go to trial in her death, which occurred seven weeks before Sakowska's death.

Assistant Cook County State's Attorney Brian Sexton told jurors Triplett got his thrills watching his victims die.

Defense attorney Jack Rimland said investigators were so focused on Triplett that they ignored other possible suspects.
