Construction on the next phase of the CTA’s Wilson Station Reconstruction Project will begin on Monday, but will cause some weekend headaches for North Side Red Line riders.
Starting at 9 p.m. Friday and lasting until 4 a.m. Monday, northbound Red Line trains will be rerouted to the Purple Line Express tracks and will operate express between Sheridan and Loyola.
That means Howard-bound trains will not stop at the Wilson, Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale or Granville stations, according to an alert from the CTA.
And 95th-bound trains will be rerouted to the northbound Red Line tracks, but will make all station stops between Granville and Wilson.
Northbound customers at Wilson, Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale or Granville will need to board a southbound train to Sheridan, cross the platform and transfer to a Howard-bound train.
Customers who want to get off a northbound train at Wilson, Lawrence, Argyle, Berwyn, Bryn Mawr, Thorndale or Granville will need to travel to Loyola, transfer to a southbound train and exit at their stop.
Southbound customers at Granville, Thorndale, Bryn Mawr, Berwyn, Argyle, Lawrence or Wilson will need to board from the northbound side of the platform.
